Mothur Overview

Mothur is a comprehensive suite of tools for microbial ecology community. It is initiated by Dr. Patrick Schloss and his software development team in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at The University of Michigan. For more information, see Mothur-Wiki.

Command Documentation

The collect.single command generates collector's curves using calculators, that describe the richness, diversity, and other features of individual samples. Collector's curves describe how richness or diversity change as you sample additional individuals. If a collector's curve becomes parallel to the x-axis, you can be reasonably confident that you have done a good job of sampling and can trust the last value in the curve.
