Mothur Overview

Mothur is a comprehensive suite of tools for microbial ecology community. It is initiated by Dr. Patrick Schloss and his software development team in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at The University of Michigan. For more information, see Mothur-Wiki.

Command Documentation

Make Design creates a design file for use in mothur commands: merge.groups, indicator, and metastats. A design file looks like the group file. It is a 2 column tab delimited file, where the first column is the group name and the second column is the set the group belongs to.
